This World lost a beloved wife, wonderful mother, the best granny, a precious sister and fun-loving aunt. Sharon Marie “Tootsie” Turner, 76 of Palestine, Texas was taken home by the Lord’s angels on September 9, 2022 from The Hospice of East Texas. Her loving family was by her side. She was born March 25, 1946 in San Diego, California to Durwood Lee and Maggie Vernice Stacks.
Sharon “Tootsie” is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jerry “Red” Turner of Palestine. They were married April 15, 1967. She is also survived by her two sons, Troy Don and Jessie Vernon Turner, a grandson Jace Cole Turner with husband Jose Carrizales, sisters Shirley Strube with husband James, Susan Foster with husband Brian, a brother Harry Stacks with wife Serita and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews .
Sharon “Tootsie” was preceded in death by both her parents; brothers Donald Lee Stacks and wife Maxine, Wendell Stacks and Eddie Stacks, and her nephew Tim Anderson.
She worked and retired as the district route manager for The Dallas Morning News. Sharon was a devoted wife and affectionate mother. She was a straightforward, self confident, independent, funny, kind, compassionate and loving woman that adored her family more than anything. She will truly be missed.
A joyous Celebration of Her Life and the love her family has for her is planned on September 24, 2022 at 4:00pm at Christ Community Church:, located on Loop 256 in Palestine Texas.
