Sharon T. Grathwohl, 68, of Hoyleton, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at Odin Healthcare Center. Sharon was born December 31, 1951 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Walter Anthony Mays and Elizabeth Edith (O’Dell) Mays. She married Gale Grathwohl on February 10, 1978 in Topeka, KS and he survives her in Hoyleton. In addition to her husband Gale Grathwohl of 42 years.
Sharon is survived by her two sons: Tony Smith and wife Kelley of Salem and Oliver Smith and wife Camille of Covington, TN; three grandchildren: Ella Smith of Salem, Olivia Smith of Covington, TN, and Luke Smith of Covington, TN; four siblings: Anthea Turner of Topeka, KS, Loretta Dean of Topeka, KS, Tony Mays of Kentucky, and Darleh Mays of California; one brother-in-law: Darrell Grathwohl and wife Janet of Sparta; and several nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Elizabeth Mays and two brothers: Everett Leroy Kidney and J. H. Mays.
Sharon was a private sitter and a nurse’s aide for several years. She also completed her Dietician Certification. She enjoyed driving the grain truck when helping her husband Gale farm. Sharon was a very religious person and was known to spend time praying to God. She was baptized in July of 1963. She was a proud member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton. She will be greatly missed by her family and church family in Hoyleton.
