Sharon Rae (Byrd) Chitwood, 58, of New Whiteland, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
Sharon was born September 14, 1963 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Ted and Nancy (Mall) Byrd.
Sharon worked for many years in the medical insurance industry until her retirement. She later was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Clark-Pleasant Community School district.
Sharon was a woman of devout faith in God and had a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She was proud to be a wife and mother and considered it her greatest joy in life. Sharon had a love and talent for quilting and will always be remembered for being a major supporter of Whiteland baseball.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Randy Chitwood of New Whiteland, IN; her son, Wyatt Chitwood of New Whiteland; her siblings, Pat (Vickie) Byrd of Wichita, KS, Toni (Mike) Kuiper of Minnesota, and Nick Byrd of Crown Point, IN; her nieces and nephews, Erica (David) Ohman, Danny (Bernadette) Byrd, Nathan (David) Alley-Byrd, Kia (John) Ganz, Patrick (Jessica) Byrd, Katrina Kuiper, Michael Kuiper, Lydia Byrd, and Luke Byrd; her sister-in-law, Stephanie (Eric) Sheets of Greenwood, IN; her nieces and nephews-in-law, Cody (Marci) Sheets, Greg (Carissa) Sheets, and Luke (Karielle) Sheets; her great-nieces and nephews-in-law, Luke, Kaden, Elisia, and Garrett Sheets; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Nancy Byrd; her in-laws, Roy and Peggy Chitwood; her brother, Douglas Byrd.
