Sharon L. McGee Howell was born on November 10, 1954, in Queens, New York to the late Evelyn McGee and Eugene Luccin. While growing up in Queens she was instilled with the fundamentals of religion, family, education and   community.

 

Sharon graduated from John Bowne High School in 1973  being one of the first alumni. She later furthered her education at LaGuardia Community College.

 

Thereafter, she worked at Chemical Bank and later become employed as a case worker for The City of New York Human Resources Administration with over 30 years of service until she retired.

 

Sharon loved to shop, travel especially with her niece Tiffany (Shaky). She attended plays, shows, concerts, dances and enjoyed hosting and taking part in family functions. Sharon was known as the family comedian she always had a laugh or joke to share. It was in South Jamaica Queens Sharon met Willie   Howell and the two were inseparable being together for over 35 years. From the love of their union, they had two children. In Sharon’s later years she had the esteemed honor of becoming a grandmother.

 

Sharon joined and became a member of several boards (Usher Board and Mothers Board) of Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the Beloved late Reverend Dr. Christopher N. Howard in 2011. She was baptized on June of the same year.

 

God Called Sharon home on August 26, 2021. She was proceeded in death by her husband Willie L. Howell in 2011.

Sharon leaves to mourn; her son and daughter, 4 grandsons, two godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

 

Mommy you have been a pillar of strength, courage and wisdom for your 66 years in our lives and we will be forever grateful. You have taught us to walk by Faith and not by sight. Take your rest, for you did a job well done while here on earth. We Love You, but God loves you Best.
