Sharon M. Sandow, 73, of South Bend, IN (formerly of Chicago), passed away on Monday November 8, 2021 at Hamilton Grove New Carlisle, IN. She was born on September 19, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to the late Stanley and Vivian (Rydelek) Jozaites. Sharon worked as a Legal Secretary for Fredrick Ettl Law Firm for 25 years, before retiring. She is survived by her sons, Phil (Mindy) Sypel of South Bend and Richard (Marlena) Sypel of AZ; six grandchildren, a sister, Lori (Ron) Dernick of AZ and by three brothers, Tom (Phyllis) Jozaites of South Bend, Ron (Kim) Jozaites of Chicago, IL and Jim (Robin) Jozaites of MI. She also had 5 nephews ,2 nieces & great nieces & nephews that she loved all so dearly. She was preceded in death by both her parents & her sister in law Yvonne Jozaites.
Mrs. Sandow was a Parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend. She enjoyed collecting angel figurines, light houses & crocheting, especially baby blankets when there was a new baby expected in the family. She also was a superior cook & loved hosting traditional family Holiday meals. Her New Year’s Day tradition of making a standing rib roast with all the fixings was always perfection. She always made sure she had homemade cookies for all the children every holiday.
Sharon loved her sons more than anything in the world & always put their needs & wants above her own. Sharon loved her family with all her heart & had so many great neighbors that she considered family.
The family wanted to give a special Thank You to the staff & administration at Hamilton Grove for their outstanding loving care & support that was given to Sharon & her family over the last few years. She truly enjoyed the staff.
