Sharon Joyce Shaw, age 80 of Centralia, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle, IL. Sharon was born on July 9, 1935 in Walnut Hill, IL, a daughter to Kenneth and Dessie (Phelps) Shaw. On January 28, 1955, she married Jesse Taylor and they later divorced. On July 27, 1979.
Sharon married Ray D. Carter and he preceded her in death in July of 1988. Sharon is survived by three sons, Victor Taylor of Carlyle, IL, Kenneth Taylor of Richview, IL and Mark Taylor and wife Jacqueline of Carlyle, IL; two daughters, Cindy Behnke and husband Bert of Mokena, IL and Terri Newkirk and husband Robert of Carlyle, IL; a sister, Helen McDonald and husband Marshall; three nieces; three nephews; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth T. Shaw; mother, Dessie Shaw; husband, Ray Carter; and two brothers, Donald Shaw and Dale Shaw. Sharon spent her life working as a homemaker, tending to the housework and raising her family. She enjoyed art but mostly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
