Sharon Faye (Phillips) Sowers, of Medora passed away peacefully at Schneck Medical Center on Thursday October 1, 2020. She was 79 years old.
Faye entered this life on December 31, 1940 in Medora, Indiana. She was the eighth child of twelve children born to the loving parents of Murrell and Lillie (Durham) Phillips. She spent her life in Medora never going far from home. She graduated from Medora High School.
On February 12, 1962 she married the love of her life, Richard H. Sowers. This union of 57 years was blessed with a son, Lonnie Dale. Rick preceded her on January 30, 2020. Faye was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a great sister, and a wonderful aunt. She loved being out in the woods. She could be out looking for mushrooms, climbing hills or walking along the creek during good weather. Faye would grow a big garden and would take the time to can the vegetables. She would share these with her family.
Faye leaves a legacy of love to her family, son, Lonnie Sowers, her three sisters, Wanda Brock of Medora, Carolyn Sue Dixon of Seymour, Joan Burgan of Seymour, three brothers, Rex Phillips of Seymour, Randy Phillips of Medora, and Larry Phillips of Marysville, TN, and several loving nieces and nephews, and her little dog Pepper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rick, two sisters Maxine Reed, Betty Milligan, and three brothers, Fergus Phillips, Dean Phillips, and Travis Phillips.
