This world lost a supermom, Sharon Faye Rees (Tonks) Beus, on Aug 30, 2021, with her family by her side. As she was moving into her heavenly home, she ushered her grandson in the same day.

Sharon was born to the late Ellis and Faye Rees on Feb. 25, 1941, in Coalville, Utah and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was proud to hold many church callings. Sharon graduated from Ogden High School in 1959, worked at Hill Air Force Base as a clerk, and then a substitute teacher. She later became a full-time supermom to raise her family and then cared for many of her grand and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies mirrored her passion for life and family.

Sharon married the late Larry Frank Tonks in 1960, they lived together in Morgan, Utah for 13 years and together had six children: Stephen Tonks (Jaimie), Troy Tonks (April), Richard Tonks (Carol), MaryAnn Hickson (David), Michael Tonks (Shanna), and Aaron Tonks (Niki). She later married Larry Dale Beus in 1977 and lived together in Ogden, Utah for 44 years and together had Carol Hanson (Tyler).

Sharon is survived by her seven children, sister Andrea “Sparky” Bohman and Ellis “Butch” Rees, 26 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Larry Frank Tonks, brother George Rees, stepson Dean Beus, grandson Tyler McDonald, and her stillborn baby boy Beus.

Sharon wasn’t just our mom; she was everyone’s mom. If she knew you, you were part of her tribe. Her greatest talents in life were providing a compassionate ear to talk to, an open door to call home and an accepting heart to welcome you in.
