Sharon Elizabeth Flood Campbell, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the age of 81. Sharon was born on a farm near Sterling, Oklahoma to Edwin Flood and Ora (Mansel) Flood. Sharon graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City with honors and was named valedictorian. She was a member of the academic team, student council, a cheerleader and attended Girls State.
In 1960 she married Darrell Dee Campbell of Edmond, Oklahoma. They settled in Norman, Oklahoma where they raised their three children. Sharon worked several secretarial jobs and retired after being office manager for Smith Freight. After retirement she joined her husband in managing their small retail business.
Sharon enjoyed reading and listening to classical music but her real joy was playing video games. It all started in the 1980’s with Intellivision Counsel and ended with too many Play Stations to list.
Sharon is survived in death by her sister, Gayle Flood Slaughter; son, Doug Campbell and wife Nora; her daughter, Staci Campbell and her husband Denis; Grandchildren, Roxana Gutierrez, Aldo Gutierrez, Isaiah Campbell, Jason Duello and Kruz Campbell; and one great granddaughter Emberly Sevigny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Flood and Ora Smith; her husband Darren Campbell; son, Paul Campbell; and granddaughter, Stashia Campbell.
