Our mother, Sharon Elaine Reitinger, lost her two-year battle with small cell carcinoma on November 1, 2021. Mom fought with determination and grace over the last three years with her husband Bernd Reitinger, her constant companion be her side as her helpmate, best friend, and sole caregiver through this last torturous battle with cancer. We are so very grateful that Mom felt so much love and happiness during the last years of her life with Bernd by her side.
Mom was such an independent, strong, loving, and caring person, she didn’t want to burden or worry her children with her struggles during this disease. She would put on a strong front and always play down her pain, discomfort, or any side effects from her treatment. She wanted us to believe it was all going to be okay and didn’t want us to worry about her. Mom was very proud of her 30+ year career at Waffle House for which she was so greatly suited, having such a bubbly outgoing personality and fun-loving spirit making people love her wherever she went.
Our mother was born February 10, 1951 in Grosse Pointe, MI.

Three additional daughters gained with current husband Bernd Reitinger, Deborah, Ursula, and Elisabeth.
Thirty-three grandchildren, and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
Her siblings, Gaye, Tommy, Marcy, Fred, and Steve.
Some preceded her in death and the rest of us are left behind feeling her void and heartbroken.
