Sharon Eugenia Thrasher Clark was born May 21, 1951 in Florence, AL.  She was the first born to Clarence and Dorothy Thrasher. She always said she had the ideal childhood growing up in the city of pre-Redstone Arsenal Huntsville.

She spent her childhood running and playing in the streets of her neighborhood with the pack of children that were their neighbors and friends, or walking to the Aquatic club to swim in the summer.

Sharon was an avid animal lover.  She never went more than a couple of weeks without a dog in life for her entire 71 years.  She cared for many animals over the years including dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, cows, and horses.  She bottle fed baby cows, nursed sick animals, and even brought a newborn horse into the house and slept in the hall with it in the winter. She cared deeply about all living things and had an extremely soft heart.

Sharon was married to her husband, Dudley, for 44 years upon his death.  She always said he was her “soul-mate.”  They spent many years going out, having parties, taking any vacation they could, and simply loving life.  Anyone who ever met Sharon will remember she loved to have fun and she had an amazing laugh.  Many times people would hear Sharon’s laugh before they saw her in a room.

Sharon died in Huntsville Hospital on June 9, 2022 of kidney failure. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodger “Dudley” Clark and by her parents, Clarence and Dorothy (Johnson) Thrasher.

She is survived by her daughter, Ashley and Kyle Seymour, two granddaughters, Abigail Seymour and Shelby Seymour, one sister, Marta Thrasher, one aunt, Patricia Johnson, one uncle, John M. Johnson, several nieces and nephews and a host of loving family members, in-laws, and friends.
