Our sweet “little” sister, aunt, and great-aunt returned home to our heavenly father on December 4, 2019. She was born on January 7, 1940. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald Victor and Gertrude Houtkooper Grube, and nephew Robert Donald Boven. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Morren and Evelyn (Robert) Boven.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephew; Lori (Bill) Wingeleth, Cheryl Benson-Hunt, and Don (Teresa) Hunt. She adored and was greatly loved by her great nieces and nephews: Megan, Bobby and Ann Wingeleth; Alex, Zachary, Sara, and Elizabeth Benson; Ryan (Emily), Bill, Halli, and Jack Hunt. Sharon worked 30 years at the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company. In her retirement years, Sharon sought to be of service to others and volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels, enjoyed bowling, traveling with her friends and spending time with family and all the delightful busy they brought to her life.

Aunt Sharon was born with Turner’s syndrome, yet while that posed challenges throughout her life, it did not define her. For, in the words of Shakespeare “Though she be but little, she is fierce”. What she lacked in size, she most assuredly made up for in the spirit of her loving heart for all of her family and friends. Special thanks to Sharon’s dear friend and caretaker, Maria Gascon.
