A Brief Sketch of Life
Sharon A. Tillman was born on November 2, 1948 in Gary, Indiana to Richard G. Mangum and Willie Mae Easterling Mangum.
Sharon attended Tolleston High School, and upon completion she worked for Gary United States Steel Corporation as a Steel Burner for 15 years. After her career at US Steel she worked at ST. Catherine’s Hospital in East Chicago, Indiana as a patient transporter and pre-operative surgery attendant.
Sharon relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1997 and became a Product Inspector and ring sizer at Herff Jones Jewelry and Fine Paper plant. Upon retirement in 2013, she became a caregiver to her mother and enjoyed gardening and shopping.
Sharon departed her earthly life on December 12, 2020 at the age of seventy-two years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard G. Mangum.
Sharon leaves behind her mother, Willie Mae Mangum; three children, Kevin B. Mangum (Miriam), Shalanda Clay (James), and LaTanya Clay; brother, Bernard K. Mangum (Shilisa); three grandchildren, Jalen Mangum, Jorian Mangum and Nasya Hart; nephew, Charles T. Mangum and a host of cousins and friends.
