Sharon A. Banicki, 84, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 11:55 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 in Healthwin Specialized Care. Sharon was born on September 28, 1937 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Edward and Mary (Moody) DeFreeuw. She had formerly been employed as a Telegraph Operator with Western Union. On April 25, 1959 she married Lawrence R. Banicki, who preceded her in death on November 18, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah A. Banicki on June 13, 2000; and her step-father, Emanuel “Bill” Slott. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Thomas) Walkowiak of South Bend, Indiana; two sons, Michael A. Banicki of South Bend, Indiana and Kenneth E. (Delphine) Banicki of Lake Elsinore, California; four grandchildren, Christopher Walkowiak, Shaun Banicki, Tori Banicki and Emma Banicki; her sister, Jackie (David) Maez of South Bend, Indiana; and her brother, Barry (Kathy) Slott of South Bend, Indiana.
