Shannon Scott Bailey, 51, formerly of Shelbyville, died suddenly and unexpectedly at Sisters of St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. He was a native of Shelbyville and attended Morehead State University for three years, with an emphasis in mathematics. He worked for various insurance companies throughout his career and specialized in the filing of Medicare and Medicaid claims. He was active in several community theaters, including the Shelby County Community Theater. He was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of the Graefenburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia G. McCormick and his sister, Jera Danielle McCormick, both of Shelbyville.
