Shane Lee Hoover, 39, passed away, June 22, 2013 at his home in Derby.
Shane was born May 11, 1974 to Kenneth Lee Hoover and Connie Ann (Elgin) Hoover in Grinnell, Iowa.
Shane attended Grinnell High School and Ottumwa High School and played football his freshman year.
He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and pool player.
He enjoyed cooking for family and friends and especially making pizza.
Shane was a devout Christian and would share his faith with everyone he met.
He enjoyed reading the Bible daily and sharing Bible verses with his friends.
Shane also loved to travel and went on many cross country trips with his brother, Lonny, where they would enjoy heated political discussions.
But most of all, Shane loved and was dedicated to his dad and they could be seen everywhere together.
Shane will be remembered for his gentle spirit, witty sense of humor and for always having a smile and a hug.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends and their children that referred to him as Uncle Shane.
Shane is survived and lovingly remembered by his father Kenneth Hoover of Derby, sister Terri Jones of Russell, brother Lonny Snook of Chariton, Grandmother Kate Elgin of Indianola, nephews Calvin Snook of Florida, Mick Jones of Russell, Derek Williams of Des Moines, Tristen Snook of Knoxville and nieces Jena (Cooper) Otero of San Diego, California, Trisha Snook of Knoxville, and Shelby Snook of Chariton; and a whole host of extended family and friends.
He will also be missed by his beloved dogs, TJ and Milo.
Shane was preceded in eternal life by his mother, Ann; grandfather Phil Elgin; grandparents, John and Florence Hoover; nephew Jason Cooper and best friend Josh Fiscus.
