New Haven Police Sergeant Dario Scott Aponte, 43, died suddenly Sept. 10, 2008 in Yale New Haven Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was the husband of Donna Czabala Aponte. Sgt. Aponte was born in New Haven Jan. 19, 1965, son of Glenda Johnson of North Carolina. He was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant in the NHPD. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons, Brandon Christopher, Andrue Teodor and Dario Scott Aponte II; a daughter, Ashleigh Aponte; two brothers, Michael & Darin Aponte; a sister, Stylene Aponte-Forbes; 6 nieces & nephews Olena & Sophia Czabala, Sheequa Davis, Josh, Ashleigh & Meadow Aponte; In laws, Teodor & Maria Czabala and brother in law, Rev. Teodor (Natalia) Czabala.
