Selma Yates Lanier, age 91, of Newnan died Saturday, July 7th, 2018. Mrs. Lanier was born March 28, 1927 in Heard County and was the daughter of the late Harvey Jerome and Violet Lucille Lewis Yates.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Leonard J. Lanier. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Opal Beck Jewell Walls, Horace Yates and Bobby Yates. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and an excellent cook and homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy L. Nalley and her husband Lawton of St. Simons Island, GA; her son, Stanley L. Lanier and his wife Debbie of Newnan. She was a proud grandmother to Lanier Nalley, Jay Lanier and Charlie Lanier. Her surviving sibling is Betty Satterfield and her husband Harris.
