Selma Bishku, 89, resident of Granville County and Cooper City, FL died unexpectedly on September 7, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin Bishku.
The daughter of Jacob and Fannie Schwartz, Selma was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. After her marriage to Martin they lived in Glendale, CA before settling in North Miami Beach, FL for over 30 years.
She loved the place on which she spent much of her later years called “Tween Towns Farm”. There, the family operated a pick your own for blueberries on which hundreds of fruit trees and vegetables were grown. These were sold at the Carrboro Farmer’s Market for the last 32 years.
She was also an avid world traveler for the last 60 years. At the time of her death she was preparing for her next 2 international trips. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Selma is preceded in death by her brother Bernard Schwartz. She is survived by her three children Michael, Diane and Charles and her two grandchildren Jennifer and Jeffrey, great grandchild Layla and numerous nephews and cousins.
