Scott M. Ambrose, 62, of Greensburg, died peacefully, at home, Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, with his loving wife and his siblings by his side. On this sad day, he lost his hard-fought battle with ALS. Scott was born Oct. 22, 1958, in New Kensington, the son of the late Edward A. and Margaret (Felock) Ambrose. Prior to his retirement in 2014, Scott was employed for 33 years by West Penn Power and then in management at Allegheny Power in Connellsville. For many years, he also owned his own successful business, Ambrose Electric. He was a perfectionist in everything he did. Scott was a graduate of Hempfield High School Class of 1977. He was a member of SNPJ, the Roosevelt Club, and 49ers Club in Greensburg. He loved his Plymouth Prowler, sports, and was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Hold’em, either in tournaments or with his many friends from his Delmont Card group. He always looked forward to his yearly trips to Las Vegas and to spending winters in Florida after his retirement. He was an avid collector of old photos and local archives of the area and, prior to his passing, he donated most of his collection to local Historical Societies and also the Trolley Museum in Washington, Pa., where he would volunteer his time. Scott had a great love for his close family and enjoyed spending time with all of them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Joanne Viano. Scott is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Margie Ambrose, who was his primary caregiver throughout his illness. She was the love of his life and devoted her time to taking care of him. He is also survived by his sisters, Cynthia Stoner and husband, Frank, and Barbara Mumau and husband, Paul; and his brother, Jeff Ambrose and his wife, Donna, all of Greensburg; his stepdaughter, Debbie Hauliska and husband, Dave; and his stepgrandson, Robbie Zontek, all of North Carolina. Scott is also survived by his nephews, Ryan (Tiffany) Ambrose and Justin (Vicki) Ambrose and their children, Melina, Alexandra, and Nico; and all of his numerous and special cousins. We would like to thank Heritage Hospice for their wonderful care of Scott in his time of need.
