Scott Rankin was born July 23, 1960.  He was the son of the late Frank and Betty Rankin.  Scott worked with the Okaloosa County School Board and most recently Hodges Brothers Lumber.  Scott coached many years in youth sports alongside longtime friend, Chuck Kelley.  He called Fort Walton Beach Vikings football games with “brother” Tony Kelly, when the Vikings were under the coaching of his dear friend, Mike Owens.  Scott loved the Florida State Seminoles and was a loyal fan for many years.  He loved sports and going to many sporting events to support our community.  Scott was a graduate of Niceville High School and was a supporter of all things Eagles.  Scott shared many stories of playing football at Lewis Middle School and Niceville High School—he cherished those memories.  Scott enjoyed life, he appreciated the friends and family that shared his days thought texts and phone calls until his passing on December 11, 2022.  His greatest joys were his grandsons, Brody and Britt.  He spent their young days being the best grandfather to his two bullies and living life to the fullest with them.
