Scott was born on October 15, 1960 in Sterling, CO to Robert and Lucile (McDonnell) LeBlanc. He was the fourth of five siblings who were raised on the family farm near Crook, CO.
Scott was always full of energy and drive. He started farming at a young age with his father and brother. Several of Scott’s nieces, nephews, and cousins lived nearby and came to visit often. They looked up to him and begged for him to take them hunting or out for a joy ride on the three-wheeler or his motorcycle. Scott loved to tease and have a good laugh over it, creating many fond memories for all involved.
Scott attended grade school in Crook, CO. He enjoyed a successful high school career as a proud Caliche Buffalo. He was a member of “C” Club, having lettered in sports all throughout high school. He loved football and wrestling and competed hard in both. His senior year, Scott was selected to the All-Conference and All-State football teams. That same year, he received the honor of FFA Star Chapter Farmer, placed second in crops at FFA Districts, and third in farm mechanics at the FFA State Convention. Scott was also part of Caliche’s Homecoming Court Royalty. While Scott was a good athlete and student, there was no question that he would spend his life farming and ranching. He established his own farm and ranch operation in 1978. He graduated from Caliche High School in 1979.
On August 28, 1982, Scott married Lynne Stieb, and they created a loving home on what became the family farm. They were blessed with four wonderful daughters. Scott was a great “girl dad,” loved being involved in their lives, and was also a father figure to many others. Throughout his daughters’ school years, he served on the RE-1 Valley School Board for eight years. He and his family attended the United Church of Crook. Scott and Lynne would go on to expand their ag operation into a thriving business. He took pride in providing the best quality of any crop he raised. Scott was a hard-working man that loved to provide for his family and led by example. Scott instilled a strong work ethic within each of his daughters by having them work along-side him. Together they drove his semi-trucks and tractors, built and fixed fence, irrigated, worked cattle, and many other farm tasks.
Scott had a strong sense of responsibility, love for family, and faith in God. In the last decade, Scott and Lynne loved vacationing in Hawaii and Germany. When Scott was able to get away from the farm, whether it was for a few minutes or a few days, he was motorcycling. Scott and Lynne enjoyed riding through different states with friends and family.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lucile LeBlanc, his nephews Lucas LeBlanc and Matthew Stieb, brother-in-law Nick Doyle, and sister-in-law Christine Doyle.
