She was born February 18, 1935, in Coweta County to the late Clyde Pettigrew and Mary Cole Pettigrew. Along with her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her siblings, Clyde Pettigrew, Jr., Roberta Mae Pettigrew, and Sybil Pettigrew. She is survived by her husband, Bill Smith; sons, Jimmy Smith, Jeffrey Smith, and his wife Marie.
