Sarah Nell Reeves Allen went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Coffee County, Alabama on November 18, 1925. She moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1952, and to Destin in 2001. She is preceeded in death by her beloved husband, Lester James Allen, her parents, Molly and Monroe Reeves, as well as her sisters, Willie Mae Harrison, Onvie Dell Carnley, Euna Blair, Estelle Cook, Cleon Howell, brothers, Roland Reeves, Olin Reeves and Mathew Reeves.
She is survived by her only son, James Douglas Allen and his wife, Barbara Allen, her only daughter, Patricia Ann Harvard and her husband, Bennie Harvard Sr., her only granddaughter, Kimberly Nell Ball and her husband, Charles Ball, her only grandson, James Douglas (Buddy) Allen, Jr. and her only great-granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Allen. Her former son-in-law, Ray Owens, her sisters, Vera Fuller, Cumy Toole, Dutchie Harrison and her husband, Burrin Harrison, Velma Burrows; along with her brother-in-law, Wilmer Carnley. Also her extended family Earline Tennes and Betty Fleischman. She has many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Sarah was a long time employee with the Okaloosa County School Board before she retired in 2001. In the earlier years, she drove a school bus and later worked in the cafeteria at Choctawhatchee High School.
