Sarah M. Ellegood, 109, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Williamsport Home.
Sarah was a public school teacher in Seattle, WA and Delaware County, PA. She was a graduate of the University of Washington and received teacher certification from West Chester State University. She was an avid quilter, bridge player, walker and read the Wall Street Journal until she was 103.
Born December 11, 1900, in Portland, OR, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rose Abess Moawad. As the oldest of 5 children, she set a high standard for her brothers, their wives, children and grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Michael S. (Julia) Ellegood of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Kathleen E. (Wayne) Longbrake of Mebane, NC; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
