Mrs. King was born in Pratt City, AL on October 22, 1922 to the late Oliver Jarman and Sadie Mae Maxwell Jarmon. She passed peacefully from this life the morning of November 12, 2014. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1985. In 2008, she moved to Oberlin, OH with her daughter, Sharon, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Cleave C. King; four brothers, Charles Jarmon, Lawrence Jarmon, Larry O’Neal Garth and Willie Clinton Scruggs; two sisters, Ida Mae Campbell and Bobbie Nell Jarmon and one great-grandson, Brayden Andrew King.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Seven children, Shelia Alexander, Aveila (Deborah) King, Gregory (Rachel) King, Sr., Michael (Betty) King, Sharon (Royal) Fenderson, John Glenn (Diane) King and Andre (Stephanie) King; 11 Siblings, Milton Jarmon, Willie Ester Brown, Evelyn Williams, Marjorie Stewart, Alberta Walker, Marva Reid, Doris Jean Jarmon, Ernestine Glenn, Loretta Jackson, Anita Kay Byrd and Delores Boswell; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
