Mrs. Smith was born January 7, 1944 in Courtland, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Welter (Diamond) & Lula Watkins Mayes.
On July 29, 1964, she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Levolia Smith Jr. To this union six children were born. One son Willie Smith, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving husband of forty-eight years, Mr. Levolia Smith Jr., of Courtland; two daughters, Debra Jean Smith and Christine Smith both of Courtland; three sons, Timothy Elroy Smith (Arneta), Christopher O’Brien Smith and Courtney Bernard Smith of Courtland; three brothers, James “Buddy Jean” Mayes (Dorothy) of Decatur, Richard Lee Mayes of Courtland, and Charlie Lee Mayes (Callie) of Courtland; four grandchildren, Setika Smith, Timothy “T.D” Smith, Jasmine Smith and Chrishonda Smith, one great-grandchild, Heaven Puryear, fifteen sisters-in-law, twelve brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
