Sarah Jayne Weber, 87 formerly of Huntington, IN now of Tucson, AZ passed away Tuesday November 20, 2012 in Tucson, AZ. Jayne was born December 8, 1924 in Huntington, IN to the late Jacob and Marie (Skully) Young.Jayne; “”The Tiny Jewel of the Sonoran Desert”” is the name given by her peers. Jayne calls herself a “”Sandwich Child”” having an older and a younger brother.

Jayne was a city girl during the winter months and a free-spirited tomboy during the summer, spending time at the family cottage on Crooked Lake. She fought the rapids, swam like fish ran from the snakes and kept up with her siblings or should we say they kept up with her. She attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and graduated with a degree in business. In 1945, Jayne Married Henry Eldon Weber and they honeymooned at Yellowstone National Park.

He was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war Henry attended Huntington College while Jayne worked at Huntington Herald Press and then later taught school in Lancaster, Indiana. After graduating from college, they lived in Bloomington, Indiana while Henry attended dental school in Indiana University. They then moved back to Huntington, Indiana where Henry set up his dental practice and Jayne stayed at home helping to raise her three children; Stephen and his wife Rita Weber of Machesney Park, Illinois, Patrick Weber and his companion Amy of Tucson, Arizona and Susan and her husband Thomas Leedy of Huntington, Indiana. 5 Grandchildren; Jonathan Weber, Chris Weber, Michael Weber, Daniel Leedy and Megan Leedy; 1 step Grandchild Matt Lucas and 3 Great Grandchildren; Anthony, Ryan and Chloe Weber and 2 step Grandchildren Christian and Braden Lucas.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry and 2 brothers Jay and Jack Young.
