Sarah Jane (Conover) Treest, age 63 of Marion, was called home to be with God Almighty on December 29, 2015 at her residence in Marion. Sarah was born on January 30, 1952, in Trenton, New Jersey.
She rededicated her life to Christ and was baptized by Pastor Tom Ballard in 2011. From that day until the day the Lord called her home, Sarah devoted her life to serving God and building her relationship with him. Sarah loved the Lord and joyful in the selfless giving of herself to help others in any way they needed. Some ways that she devoted herself to helping others was by volunteering at the Grant County Rescue Mission Mart and at the Open Heart Woman’s Shelter. Sarah loved to sing and listen to church music, going to churches to share her testimony, doing biblical circle puzzles, and attend Wednesday night Bible studies. Sarah will be sadly missed by many in the community.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Steven Yogi Treest; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Marjory Conover; two grandchildren, Heaven Lee and Gabriel; her Downtown Tabernacle Church family; her Open Heart Womans Shelter sisters in Christ; two devoted friends, Linda K. Johnson and Edith Bailey. Sarah was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Sheppard.
