Sarah Jane (Williams) Busetti was born in Florence, CO on April 12, 1924 to Charles Elbert and Frances Edith (Matney) Williams. On February 2, 1944, Sarah married her Navy Sweetheart, Robert Joseph Busetti Sr. Following WWII, the couple started their family in Coal Creek, CO, where they resided for 66 years. Sarah passed away on March 16, 2013 at Hildebrand Care Center in Canon City, CO. As a child she was fondly nicknamed “Sas Sas”, however, she would tell you it was not because she was “sassy”. As a child, she hated washing dishes and even more all the moves her family had made. The family had lived in Salida, Cripple Creek, and several places in Florence. Because her family moved so much, she was determined to stay in one place and not move again after she was married. Sarah loved a pair of wooden shoes her mother gave her as a child because she understood how hard it was for her mother to give her such a gift. Sarah learned to work hard as a result. She loved reading the Sunday “funnies”, which carried over into her adulthood. She also loved reading novels, especially Zane Grey. Sarah was an avid oil painter and loved to paint people, western scenes, and Native American scenes. She gave away dozens of paintings to friends and family. She was particularly proud of her ancestors and archived her family genealogy. Like her mother, she always kept her home tidy. Sarah was a loving wife and mother, and will be missed. Sarah is survived by her sons, Robert Jr. (Bonnie), William R. (Shellie), and Daniel L. (Debra); sister, Peggy Shaw; and brother, Roger Williams. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sisters, Alice, Mae, and Edith; and brothers, Charles, John, Jim, Billie, and George.
