Sarah Irene Norris went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 10th, 2021 at the age of 86.  Sarah was born in Kokomo, Indiana on October 24, 1934 to Gertrude and Frank Crist.  Both preceded her in death.  Sarah graduated from Michigantown High School.  She married the love of her life Jack Norris.   They were married 66 years.

Sarah devoted her life to her faith, her family, and her friends.  Sarah was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ.  She faithfully attended Dayton Memorial Presbyterian Church and volunteered in a wide variety of church activities.

Sarah was a stay-at-home mom and she helped care for the family farm.  She loved her three children unconditionally and helped them with their many extra-curricular activities.  She delighted in her grandchildren and played an encouraging and significant role in each of their lives.  She especially enjoyed spending time with them at Fishtrap Lake in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin.

Sarah also loved her friends.  For many years, she attended all of the home Purdue basketball games with a group of friends.  She was an expert euchre player and taught her children and grandchildren to play.  Sarah also enjoyed fishing, reading, mysteries, and baking delicious pies.

Sarah will be greatly missed by her family.  She is survived by her husband, Jack Norris, two daughters, Ruth Ann Townsend (Alan), Kathryn Shaw (Wes), and one son, Stephen Norris (Julie).  She also is survived by seven grandchildren, Aja Pirtle (Doug), Eric Shaw (Cassy Wass), Lee Shaw (Meg), Jay Townsend (Elise), Amanda Smith (Kyle), Jackson Townsend (Megan), and Emily Norris (Adam Arnold).  She also is survived by three great-grandchildren, Sophie Pirtle, Ethan Pirtle, and Amelia Shaw.
