Sarah Elizabeth Bohannon, age 68, took the final inspiring steps in her cancer journey and passed away peacefully in her home on March 14, 2017. Sarah lived a vibrant life with a strong commitment to art in many forms. She spent much of her life in El Paso, working most recently as an administrator for Thomason Hospital before moving to Silver City in 1995. She brought her vision of arts and crafts to children in the Silver City Recreation Center after school program until her retirement in September 2010. Her most recent artistic endeavors included crafting beautiful and delicate origami paper sculptures and creating original art with her IPad. Her light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her. Sarah is survived by her son, David Boyer, granddaughters, Leela, Vivian and Eva Boyer, niece Leslie Landrum and husband Doug, niece Beth Fields and husband John, sister-in-law, Deborreh McCormick, sister-in-law, Bertha Bohannon, grand-nephew, Spencer Landrum and grand-niece, Jane Landrum. Sarah also leaves behind a family of loving friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bohannon, mother, Margaret Bohannon and brother Robert “Randy” Bohannon.
Sarah’s Memorial Service in Silver City is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2017 3:00pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship located at 3845 N. Swan Street.
