Sara Annette Olds (Salli to her family and most of her friends) was born to Neville Olds and Roberta Friend in Connersville on October 6, 1948.  She passed away peacefully on October 11, 2021.

Salli grew up on the southside of Indianapolis and graduated from Emmerich Manual High School.  Later she earned a B.A. degree from Barry University (Miami) Magna Cum Laude.  Salli went to work at Indiana Bell at eighteen as an operator.  She rose steadily in the organization and to lead in corporate sales, marketing, customer utilization and training.  She worked for Southern Bell in Miami and Atlanta, and later for AT&T.  Salli worked for a time in Washington D.C., St.

Her passions were family, friends and travel.  Salli was accomplished in so many ways, whether pulling together a fabulous outfit with effortless chic, or hosting the sort of party (lavish or impromptu) which is talked about to this day.

Following her retirement, Sara pursued her interests in design, decorating, gardening and the preservation and improvement of her Cottage Home neighborhood.  She renovated/rehabilitated entirely a cottage on her property and managed it as an Airbnb.

Our Sara Salli Ann was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, John Bannister; brothers, Robert and Michael and her sisters, Laurie Carla and Lois Frank.  Sara is survived by, and she is alive in the hearts of her brother, Chuck (Jan) Olds; nephews, Ryan (Corri) Wright, Travis (Jenna) Williams, Jason Olds, Jeremy Olds and Josh Olds; nieces, Robin (Ron) Colantonio, Wendi (Nels) Olds, Kelly Decker and Noel (Steve) Zaffarano; cousins, Roberta Spurlock and Tara (Brad) Jones Roe; her beloved “greats”, Kyle, Eric, David, Grant, Nate, Evie, Olivia, Carlos, Clara, Theodore, Harrison, Madeleine, Remington, Angelique, Emily and Bella; her husband, Mark Gray and so many friends across this country and beyond.

Her faith was simple, her determination great in the face of fearful challenges.  As a daughter, sister, colleague, friend, mentor, wife and very great aunt Salli was always kind, supportive and genuinely sweet.  She is quite irreplaceable.
