Sara Maria Martin Bejarano Serrano, age 88, entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 10, 2022 in Bridgeport. Born in Colombia on April 20,1934, she was the daughter of the late Eliseo Martin and Alejandra Bejarano, and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport, CT and Norwalk, CT. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Hector Serrano, her brother Manuel Martin Bejarano, and sisters Aura Maria Martin Bejarano, Ana Julia Martin Bejarano, Anatilde Martin and Selina Martin Bejarano, and her son-in-law Richard Prackup.
Sara was survived by her three loving daughters: Leila Prackup of Weston, Daphne Serrano and partner Anthony Quinitchett of East Hartford, Lillian Serrano of Monroe, five grandchildren: Richard, Emily and Andrew Prackup, Jordan and Jared Serrano, a dear family friend, Barbara Ferrucci. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters Maria Eva Martin Bejarano, Anatilde Martin Garzon, Agripina Martin and brother Luis Carlos Martin Bejarano and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Before her retirement she worked as a seamstress at Romar Manufacturing in Norwalk, and Bigelow Tea Co. in Fairfield.
Sara was an avid gardener lovingly caring for her many roses. She loved animals including her cats and birds throughout the years. Her hobbies included bird watching, crocheting, fishing and taking trips to the casino. Her greatest joy came from cooking and caring for her family.
