Muncie-Sara E. (Hilton) Gross- Marcaletti, 89, passed away Saturday evening, January 13, 2018, at the Golden Living Center following an extended illness. She was born on November 28, 1928 in Rosedale, Indiana the daughter of John and Verne M. (James) Hilton.
Sara graduated from Muncie Burris High School in 1948 and married Odel Gross that same year and eventually later married Mark Marcaletti in 1969 when she moved from Richmond, Indiana and he preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. Marcaletti had been a Hairdresser for many years even to the point of owning and operating her own shop known as Sally’s Beauty Salon. She enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds, knitting but, mostly she enjoyed socializing with her family and friends, it was said of her” she was the life of the party!”
Survivors include, two sons, Walter O. Gross (wife-Nancy) Deltona, Florida and Douglas w. Gross (wife-Connie), Muncie; one stepson, Rich Marcaletti (wife-Cheryl), New Philadelphia, Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Cecilia Hilton, Colorado; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her two husbands, Odel and Mark, she is preceded in death by twin infant children in 1958 Timothy Wayne and Susan Marie; her parents, two brothers, Wayne Hilton and Charles Hilton and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Hilton.
The family would like to extend a grateful thank you to the staff of the Golden Living Center and the Alzheimer’s Memory Unit for their wonderful care and a special thank you to Laurie Lundsford the former Activities Director for all her help with their mother and teaching her to use her artistic talents.
