Sara Catherine Storey, age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her home in Newnan, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 27, 1929, to the late Homer Barrow and Sallie Osborn Barrow.
Along with her parents, Catherine as she was known by friends and family, is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joe Peniston “Penny” Storey; brother, Thomas Melvin Barrow and sister, Thelma Elizabeth Cox. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Kennedy and her husband Neal, Donna Storey; grandchildren, Dennis Patrick Kennedy (Donna), Beth Headley (Luke); great grandchildren, Harris Headley, Sara Grace Headley and Dennis Neal Kennedy,II. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Sue Colwell and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service celebrating the life Catherine lived is Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan with Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in Newnan. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for all of the wonderful care they gave the family during this time. They would also like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Shateeah Henderson, Mary Marshall and Lynn Favors for all the love and compassion they gave to Catherine and the rest of the family.
