Sanford Jennings Wakeman, Jr., age 81, of Fairfield, beloved husband of 50 years of Karen Ostrosky Wakeman, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 20, 2019, surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Sanford J. Wakeman, Sr and Grace Dowlin Wakeman, he had been a lifelong Fairfield resident. He graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School in 1957 and served for five years in the U.S. Air Force including two tours on what was known as the “Texas Towers.” Sandy was employed at the Jelliff Corporation in Southport as a machinist, retiring after 37 years.
