Sandra (Sandy) K Wiegel of Corunna passed away Saturday, November 29 with family by her side. Sandy was born in Canton, Ohio September 23, 1943. Daughter of Richard and Louise (Betivas) Cook. Sandy married John David Wiegel in 1975 and relocated to Owosso, where she attended Lansing Community College with a degree in nursing. Sandy loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, and in doing so was led to volunteer at Tanalian Bible Camp in Alaska for several years, calling this her “home away from home” Sandy worked for Owosso Memorial Hospital where she worked in several departments including Obstetrics and Cancer care, where she retired from in 2013. She is survived by her 5 children: Kenneth (wife cynthia) Snyder Jr; Sherrilyn (Don) Jeffers; Ron (Barb) Snyder; Kathy (Rich) Mitchell; and Marie Wiegel. also survived by: 6 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren and one on the way ; step daughters: DaVena Rundell and Emma Jean Berry; siblings: Jeff Cook and Russell Cook, and sister Cheryl Irwin and many nieces and nephews.Predeceased by her husband Dave, parents and brother Paul Richard Cook and sister Sue Buckland.Family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Friday Dec. 5 from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Dec. 6, at 11am, at Grace Bible Church with Pastor Jerry Walden officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to Owosso Cancer Center or local charities.
