Sandra L. “Sandy” Heim-Schleper, 66, of Highland, IL, born March 19, 1952 in Highland, IL and passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.
Sandy worked several jobs throughout her career, she was the Village Clerk for Grantfork, IL, waitressed at Amman’s Restaurant, Seamstress at Todd/Aramark Uniforms, Highland Health Care, St. Joseph’s Hospital Dietary Department and as a cosmetologist for over thirty years. She volunteered many hours with several service organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, St. Jacob Lion’s Club and the NICE Foundation.
She was President of Bussong-Mersinger American Legion Auxilary, 665 St. Jacob, IL, Past-President of District 22 American Legion Auxillary and Bond Madison County American Legion Auxillary. 8 & 40 Chapeau Officer for Madison County, La Chapeau Deuxieme of Department of Illinois and a member of VFW Auxillary Post 5694.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Natasha Rachel Schleper; parents, Milton C and Lucille Catherine (nee Meskil) Heim; in-laws, Anthony and Josephine (nee Rehkemper) Schleper; sister, Marsha Lynn Heim; brother-in-laws, Tom Miller and Jerome Schleper.
Surviving are her Husband, James Schleper of Highland, IL whom she married November 10, 1973 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Highland, IL; daughters, Niki (Rick) Lallish of Highland, IL and Natalie (Danie Raja) Schleper of Glen Carbon, IL; grandchildren, Taylor Becker and SSgt. Brendon (Vicki) Garwood; sisters, Sharon Miller of Highland, IL, Sheila (Patrick) Akers of Ashland, MO, Marlene (Kenny) Holtgrave, of St. Rose, IL, Janice (Bob) Bugger of Mt. Sterling, MO and Brenda (Roger) Britsch of Lebanon, IL; brothers, Larry P. (Kathy) Heim of West Frankfort, IL, Alan C. Heim of Maryland Heights, MO, Ron (Sharyn) Heim of Festus, MO, Roger Heim of Highland, IL and Jeff Heim of Highland, IL; sister-in-laws, Dolores (Russ) Singler of Huey, IL, Sr. Loretta Schleper of Gary, IN, Linda Wagman Schleper of E.
