Sandra S. Gersbach, age 73, of Rensselaer, Indiana and formerly of Hamilton,Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at I.U. Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
She was born on July 1, 1942, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Lawrence and Thelma (Kroeger) Gersbach. Sandy graduated from Notre Dame High School of Hamilton with the Class of 1960, and went on to graduate from the University of Dayton in 1965. Sandy was a teacher and had retired from the Rensselaer School Corporation in 2012.
She previously taught at St. Augustine Catholic School in Rensselaer and St. Victor’s in Calumet Park, Illinois. She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church of Rensselaer. Sandy enjoyed the time she spent volunteering for Hospice and CASA, reading, cross stitching and bird watching. Her favorite activity was time spent with family and friends.
Surviving are her loving siblings, Annie Gersbach, Linda Gersbach and Larry (Nancy) Gersbach all of Hamilton, Ohio and her seven nieces and nephews, Michele Cooper, Kristie Hagg, Joey Flowers, Andy Gersbach, Lauren Gersbach, Elizabeth Manford, and Emily Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Beth Gersbach-Schuder.
