Sandra Richman, 82, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA.
Sandra was born January 15, 1939, in Chicago, IL, to Ralph and Mary Lou (Hern) Hollingsworth.
Sandra had a long and rewarding career, working over 35 years before her retirement from Homesteaders Life Company. She made many connections throughout her career while forming lifelong friendships.
She was an active member of St. Pius Catholic Church. She enjoyed attending mass and the fellowship. Sandra was a sports enthusiast and loved watching golf, Iowa college sports, and baseball. In her retirement, some of her favorite things to do were to spend time with the staff and residents of, along with volunteering at, The Reserve where she resided in Urbandale. Sandra’s greatest loves were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; they all loved going to grandma’s house. She was known for her holiday gatherings, cooking, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her daughters, Laura (Perry) DePhillips of Norwalk, IA, Joan (Michael) Schoborg of Des Moines, IA; sons, Bradley Richman of West Des Moines, IA, Brent Richman of Huxley, IA; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her fiancé, David Mills; brother, Bill Hollingsworth; sisters, Mary Smith, Clara Cioffi; and granddaughter, Cassandra Lynch.
