Sandra Lea Carlile Beeman, 74, was born May 21, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Rex and Odessa (Swofford) Carlile. She married Richard (Dickie) Beeman on August 11, 1967. She passed away after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on September 15, 2022, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Odessa Carlile, and her sister, Gloria Hockersmith.
Survivors include: her husband, Richard (Dickie) Beeman of Belton, Texas; daughters, Renita Sansom and husband Scott of Hutto, Texas, Sheila Egger and husband David of Belton, Texas and Teresa Bishop and husband Charlus of Kingman, Kansas. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Brooke Kaye and husband Evan of O’Fallon, Illinois, Blaire Sansom of Austin, Texas, Bryce, Dylan and Cayden Egger of Belton, Texas and Jacob Bishop of Kingman, Kansas; one sister Cathy Turner and husband Charles of Pearland, Texas and many special nieces and nephews.
Sandra was not fearful when learning of her Alzheimer’s diagnosis several years ago because she understood that, while one doesn’t choose what they die from, every day we choose what we live for. All her life her family often found her in her room beside her bed, kneeling in prayer, or in her living room chair, reading her Bible. Because that is how she sought to live, in her later years, as the disease advanced and confusion became greater, she was very often found quietly reading her Bible.
She chose to be a stay-at-home mother for her children and a faithful and very devoted wife to her husband of 55 years. She was often found serving others … from helping others who had any kind of need to lovingly and faithfully caring for her parents in their later years. She gave of herself to many.
She was a substitute teacher at Troup Schools for many years, after her children were grown. She leaves behind a loving legacy for her thankful family.
