Mrs. Sandra Kay Kitts, 76, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Center for Hospice care in Elkhart following an extended illness on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 2:45 am.
Sandra was born in Nappanee on Apr. 28, 1943 to the late Dale and Fredonna (Zents) Kitts. She later married Edward B. Kitts in Nappanee on Feb. 1, 1963. He survives at home after 56 wonderful years together.
Also surviving are his children Laurie Howard, Lisa (Ryan) Miller and Bruce (Anne) Kitts; brother Stanley (Rita) Kitts, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a brother, Philip Thomas, and an infant sister Shirley Thomas.
Sandy was a hair stylist for 42 years and owned the Fountain of Beauty and the Mi Lady Beauty Salons over the years. She loved to go on family vacations and enjoyed Gatlinburg and Florida the best. She attended the California Road church, enjoyed shopping and will be best remembered for her love and devotion to her family and her constant support of her grandchildrens’ extracurricular activities.
