Sandra (Sandy) Kathryn (Johnson) Koler, 78, passed away January 28, 2023, at her home in Red Cloud, Nebraska. She was one of eight children born to Gerald and Isabel (Ray) Johnson, on April 6, 1944, on the family farm south of Red Cloud, Nebraska. Sandy was raised on the farm, where she loved helping her Mom with the daily chores of farm life. She also had many fond memories of assisting her parents in raising her younger siblings.
She went to a country school south of Red Cloud from kindergarten through the 8th grade. She graduated from Red Cloud High School with the class of 1962.
After graduation, Sandy was united in Holy Matrimony with Edward James ‘Jim’ Koler, the love of her life, on June 8, 1962. In their marriage of 59 years, the couple raised five children.
She was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Red Cloud. She loved the Lord and spent a lot of time in prayer interceding for family and friends. She devoted a great deal of time and effort in support of the various functions of the Sacred Heart Alter Society.
Sandy enjoyed several pastimes throughout her life. She loved volunteering for civic causes, such as the election board and the food pantry.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; brothers, Donald Johnson and Garold “Jerry” Johnson; sisters, Darlene Johnson and Julie Johnson; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Koler and Char Johnson; brother-in-law, Gehrt Dickman.
Survivors include her children and spouses, James Robert “Robb” (Julie); Gina; Mike (Amy); Jason (Kristen); and Jeremy. Grandchildren: Jordan Koler; Emily and Elise Villarreal; Joshua Koler; Nicholas (Taylar) Koler; Madisen, Alexandra, Jillian, Evan, Eric, and Isabella Koler. Also surviving are great grandchild: Peyton Koler; brother-in-law, Keith Koler; sister, Paula Dickman; brothers, Jim (Cindy) Johnson and Ron (Ann) Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The Rosary was recited Friday, February 3, 2023, 7:00 pm, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
