Sandra “Sandy” Centers, 67, of Anderson, passed away at her home on October 18, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after fighting cancer for the last two years.

She was born on May 25, 1951 to Travella Valetta Turner and Virgil Noble in Anderson, Indiana and lived in Anderson/Indianapolis most of her life. Sandra graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associate’s Degree in computer programming. She worked at various office, restaurant and bar jobs around Anderson and Indianapolis throughout her life. She was a member of the Veterans of Madison County. She believed in living life independently and with a sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing games, singing, dancing and being a hippie until the end.

She is survived by her daughters, Crystal (Mike) Zirkle and Keri Zimmerman; step-children, Bill (Tara) Maxey, Rachel (Jerry) Hamilton; bonus children, Lloyd (Ashley), Maggie and Aaron Zimmerman, Rusty (Paige) Cripe; grandkids, Derrick Lawson, Kenny (Julie) Nivens, Jesseca Bard; bonus grandkids, Breeanna Zirkle, Mikey Zirkle; great-granddaughter, Delilah Zirkle; sister, Cheryl Fippen; aunt, Mary Brown; uncle, John Cox; special nephew, Neal Fippen; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Bea and Dick Brumback and Gary Johnson; grand puppies and grand kitty.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Travella Valetta Burton; father, Virgil Noble; dad, Francis “Pete” Burton; brother, James Turner.
