Samuel Walker Taylor, 70 of Flemington, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born September 24, 1946 in Preston County, a son of the late Samuel Clifford and Lillian Arizona Larew Taylor. He is survived by his wife of Fifty One Years, Emma Jean Rager Taylor, they were married October 22, 1964.
He was a Correction Officer, Charleston and Pruntytown for the State of WV Dept. of Corrections. Sam graduated from Rowlesburg High School. He belonged to the American Legion, VFW, Elks, Moose Lodge, and the Grafton Lodge # 15. He loved the outdoors especially fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Ann Taylor, Lost Creek, Sandra Kay Johnston and husband Jeff, Grafton, Kathy Lynn Michel Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Joshua Lynn Austin, Steven “Adam” Hayes, Amber Dawn Kauffelt, and husband Hunter, Samuel David Bolyard, one sister, Judith Ann Mayne and husband Ervie “Bud”; one brother, Donald Calvin Taylor, Grafton, two great grandchildren, Wyatt Kauffelt and Logan Kauffelt; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother in infancy.
