Samuel Smith, 72, of Anchorage passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 at Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage Samuel was born August 7, 1948 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1983. Mr. Smith served in Korea, in Texas at Ft Hood and in Germany. While in Germany, he met his wife, Patricia. They moved to Alaska in 1985 and Samuel worked security at the Airport. Samuel loved his native North Carolina’s sports teams- the Tar Heels and the Panthers.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia Jo Smith; daughters, Renia Smith and Kim Dacus Emberton; sons, Patrick and Kenneth Brisbane; grandsons, Tavarez and Isiah Stewart, Timothy Brisbane, Sam Emberton; granddaughter, Hannah Emberton; sisters, Ella Smith-Houston and Diana Smith; brother, Sosthense Smith; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, Addie and Samuel Smith, Sr.; and one brother, David Smith.
