Samuel Joaquin Torres, 27, affectionately known as “Sammy” and “Sam”passed away Oct. 29, 2021. A lifetime Puebloan, he was born Aug. 10, 1994 to Diana Torres and Lawrence Sanchez. He watches us with the following in heaven; his father, Lawrence Sanchez; grandfather, Guadalupe Torres; grandmother, Mary Wendorf; aunts, Helen Ayala and Judy Vallez. Sammy went to Central High School, and worked for J&B Steel Construction. He enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting, and country music. He had strong faith and the Lord was important to him. Samuel had a heart of gold. He was always willing to help others and cared for animals. If someone need assistance he was there to help immediately. Samuel was taken too soon for being the selfless man he was. He always cared about others more than himself. The kind to give the shirt off his back. That laugh, the “big dawg” to all his favorites. The class clown, the goof, the one who could make anyone smile. The honest one who was never afraid to call you out, he had great advice regardless of his own faults. He found his way back from a dark sided life because of his strength, his love for his family, and his faith in his Savior. He was not perfect but was a great man. Above all Samuel loved the time he spent with his girls and his family; they were his world. He is watching from heaven over those who survive him. Samuel leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Dena (Reyes) Torres; children, Maleah, Miah, Mariyah; his mother, Diana Torres; brothers, Lawrence Salazar and Kevin (Alexandria) Torres; grandmother, Carmen Torres “G. Baby”; grandfather, Lawrence Sanchez Sr., nephews, Lawrence Salazar Jr., James Salazar, Lukas Torres; niece, Julie Sage, great-nephew, Lorenzo Salazar; great-niece, Jaelianah; aunts, Lisa (Ethan) Sisneros and Frances Torres Nellie Ryes, Lydia Ayala, Evlyn Torres, Lorraine Sanchez; uncles, Patrick (Dana) Sierra, Ryan Willetts, Mario & Maurice Wendorf; cousins, Ethan (Bern), Brian, and Jason Sisneros, Terra (BJ) Alarid, Mathen, Derek (Uncle D), Jeremy Montez all whom he loved dearly.; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
