Samuel H. Flock, 85, of Barbours, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Williamsport Hospital.

Born Dec. 30, 1924, in Williamsport, he was a son of Fredrick and Mary Ruth Hoffa Flock.

He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, where he was attained the rank of quarter master 3rd class. He was a member of the American Legion.

He was a member of Community Baptist Church. Sam had a true love of nature, and enjoyed being outdoors, especially on the Loyalsock Creek. Sam had a very nurturing soul, putting the needs of others before his own.

Surviving are two daughters, Nanette Flock of Leesburg, Va. and Roxane Flock of Hot Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren, Isaac Islas of Calif., Caleb Powell of Texas, Jacob Powell of Ark. and Salem Madlo of Vienna, Austria; two great-grandchildren, Anastasia and Nathaniel of Vienna, Austria; niece, Sally Simmons; and a great-niece, Stephanie Simmons.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Roselyn F. Simmons.
