Waterbury – Mr. Samuel Davis, Jr., age 80, of Waterbury, passed away Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband, for 57 years, of Helen M. (Payne) Davis.
Mr. Davis was born November 21, 1935 in Waterbury living on Abbott Avenue, Son of the late Samuel Davis, Sr. and the late Mamie (Blash) Davis. He was a 1956 graduate of Leavenworth High School where he played football, basketball and golf, was retired from Southbury Training School and also formerly worked at Riley and Burns Pharmacy. After his retirement he worked as a Senior Companion and an AIC counsel. He was an active member of Mt. Olive A.M.E.
